New Campus

We’re growing! That’s a phrase commonly heard at The Child Development Center when one of our wonderful families is celebrating a new addition to their family. Well, now it’s our turn to join the fun!

We are pleased to announce the addition of a second school campus - The Child Development Center East - that’s just a hop, skip and a jump down La Crosse Ave. You have likely passed by the building that will house our new campus many times over, but you are not going to believe the changes in the works. From a new entryway to new classrooms and, best of all, new playgrounds, it is going to be a gorgeous addition to our own family here at The Child Development Center.

We can imagine that you have a ton of questions about the East Campus, and we’ve included some answers to Frequently Asked Questions below. As we have more news to share, we will communicate with you via email, on social media and on our website.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you share our excitement for this new chapter in our family’s history!

Frequently Asked Questions

The East Campus will open on August 15, 2022, which is the start of the 2022-2023 school year for both the East and the West Campus.

Yes, although the number of classes per age group varies each year, both campuses will have at least one full-time class for each age group. Our part-time program (Pre-K 4’s only) will be held at The Child Development Center West Campus.

The waitlist application is available on the admissions page  of our website. If you want to learn more, please schedule a tour at our current West Campus. (The East Campus will not be open for tours until late summer.)

We are thrilled that we will be offering more sports than we ever have before. However, due to our current waitlists, we cannot guarantee enrollment. Our waitlists are ever-changing and, even if a list may seem long, there are many factors that affect how quickly we move through the waitlist. Once you join our waitlist, we will send updates periodically.

  • Once a family joins our waitlist and pays the fee, the child is added to the age-appropriate list based on their age as of Sept 1st of the current year.
  • The ONLY priority status we offer is to siblings of currently enrolled families.
    • As of January 1, 2022, we no longer offer a Circle C resident priority due to the growth of our Southwest area.
      • As an aside, we are independent from the Circle C Ranch Homeowners association (CCHOA).
      • The CDC is a private and independently run 501(c)3 school.
  • The Child Development Center school year runs from mid-August to the beginning of August of the following year.
    • Since we run on an actual school year and not continuous like most preschools do, the majority of our openings happen in August of each year.
    • Openings do occasionally become available throughout the school year and, when they do, we continue calling families from the waitlist to fill the spot.
    • The upcoming year will begin August 15th, 2022.
  • Once a spot becomes available you will receive an email/phone call and will have 48 hours to respond and accept the spot.
  • You will remain on the waitlist until one of the following things happen:
    • A spot becomes available, and you accept.
    • A spot becomes available, and you decline.
      • If you decline the spot, you will be removed from the waitlist and would have to rejoin and pay the fee to be added back on.

The East Campus will continue to follow the mission and vision of The Child Development Center. Both campuses will continue with the same dynamic curriculum that we currently use. Each campus will have a mix of new and current CDC teachers.

Michelle Moran will remain the Executive Director over both campuses and the current Education Directors will be assigned to a specific campus later this summer.

Our 2022-2023 school year tuition rates can be found on the admissions page of our website. Tuition rates will be the same at both campuses.

No. Teaching assignments are finalized over the summer months and will  not be officially announced until the end of July.

No. The new Child Development Center location, East Campus, is currently undergoing major renovations. For this reason, we cannot allow tours at this time. We will publish updates and pictures of the progress as it occurs on our website and on social media.  Make sure you follow The Child Development Center on Instagram and Facebook to watch the progress.

If interested in touring our current campus, West Campus, please visit our tours page to submit a tour request.

Playground renovations and plans are in the works, but are not planned to be completed before the opening in August. There is a huge outdoor space on the East Campus for us to build another natural outside learning playground.

Due to the fact that COVID is constantly changing, we reevaluate our COVID policies and procedures weekly. At this time, we cannot tell you what our policies will be for the 2022-2023 school year.
