Our Inclusion Pre-K programs are part of a unique partnership with Austin Independent School District (AISD). Typically-developing children, enrolled through The Child Development Center, and children with special needs, enrolled through AISD, share a pre-kindergarten classroom at Clayton Elementary and Kiker Elementary. This program is team-taught with teachers from both The Child Development Center and AISD, and combines resources from both campuses.
Inclusion pre-kindergarten classes are offered Monday through Friday from 7:45AM to 2:12PM. An extended hour option and the afterschool program can be added to lengthen the day. This program follows the AISD calendar. All-day care is available for most AISD in-service days and some holidays. Summer camp options are also available.
Children must be 4 years old by September 1st in order to enroll for the school year. There are some limited circumstances that allow us to include students who are 3 years old, in order to provide age equivalent peers for younger students in the AISD inclusion program. The Inclusion Pre-K is an acceptance-based program. For more information about the application process, please contact our office.
